Using the World Cup to Kick Off Conversations About Men’s Health

This summer, MIRA is using the excitement of the World Cup to open the door to something important: conversations about men’s health, family well-being, and access to care.

For many families, MIRA is already a trusted place to ask questions, connect with resources, and receive support in a welcoming bilingual environment. Now, we are inviting more men in our community to take that first step by bringing their children to the MIRA bus for resources and services.

Whether someone comes for health education, screenings, insurance navigation, mental health support, food assistance referrals, or help connecting with local services, MIRA is here to make access easier. We know that men are often less likely to seek preventive care or ask for support, even when they are caring deeply for their families. By connecting health conversations to something familiar and joyful, like the World Cup, we hope to make that step feel more comfortable.

Each week, men in the community who bring their child to MIRA for resources and services will be entered into a raffle to win a World Cup water bottle and album. The raffle is a small way to celebrate fathers, caregivers, and family members who are showing up for their children and taking steps toward a healthier future.

This effort is about more than a giveaway. It is about creating moments of connection. It is about reminding men that their health matters, their questions are welcome, and they do not have to navigate systems alone.

When men engage in health and resource conversations, the impact reaches the whole family. Children see their fathers and caregivers asking for support, learning about wellness, and building trust with community resources. Families gain access to information that can help them stay healthy, connected, and supported.

MIRA’s team is ready to welcome families with care, respect, and culturally responsive support. Together, we can use the energy of the World Cup to kick off meaningful conversations that strengthen families across Eagle County.

Bring your child to MIRA, connect with resources, and enter for a chance to win a weekly World Cup water bottle and album.
