Showing Up for Hunger Action Month in Eagle County

Every September, Hunger Action Month brings communities together to raise awareness about hunger and take action to ensure everyone has access to nutritious food.

Here in Eagle County, up to 6,000 of our neighbors turn to The Community Market each week for fresh produce, meat, dairy, pantry staples, and other nutritious foods. Hunger isn’t always visible, but it affects families and individuals throughout our community. That’s why Hunger Action Month matters. By wearing orange, we help bring attention to food insecurity and remind our neighbors that hunger remains an issue right here in Eagle County.

And this September, our community showed up. From wearing orange to hosting food drives to volunteering, community members and local businesses came together to support our neighbors.

At Eagle Valley Community Foundation, we believe that meeting basic needs starts with a community that cares. The generosity of our partners, donors, volunteers, and neighbors helps The Community Market continue providing free, nutritious food in a welcoming environment where everyone can shop with dignity and choose the foods that work best for them and their families.

To everyone who participated in Hunger Action Month, thank you for showing up for our community. Your time, generosity, and commitment make a meaningful difference – not just in September, but throughout the year.

Together, we’re building a stronger, healthier Eagle County, one neighbor at a time.
