Service Above Self, Right Here in Eagle County
We were honored to join the Vail Edwards Rotary Club as their featured speakers this month—an opportunity to share the work of the Eagle Valley Community Foundation and, more importantly, the stories of the community we serve every day.
At Eagle Valley Community Foundation, our mission is rooted in connection—connecting people to food, health resources, and opportunities for growth. Whether through The Community Market, MIRA, or Elevar, our work is driven by a simple belief: when we invest in people with dignity and intention, our entire community becomes stronger.
That’s why being in a room with leaders who live out Rotary’s guiding principle of “Service Above Self” felt so aligned.
A Shared Commitment to Community
The Vail Edwards Rotary Club embodies what it means to show up—locally and globally. From supporting youth leadership and international exchange to advancing initiatives like the global eradication of polio, Rotary’s impact reaches far beyond any single meeting room.
Their commitment to local partnerships is what makes their work especially meaningful—and we were grateful to feel that partnership firsthand.
As shared by Linda Hill, Youth Exchange Officer and Past Club President:
“So proud to have the Eagle Valley Community Foundation at our Vail Edwards Rotary Club meeting as our featured speaker. What the Foundation does for our community is so powerful in meeting the needs of those living in our Valley. As the Vail Edwards Rotary Club, we focus on Service Above Self globally and locally. We look forward to partnering with the Foundation for years to come.”
Her words reflect exactly what makes this community so special—a shared belief in showing up for one another and investing in solutions that meet real needs.
A Meaningful Gesture with Global Impact
One of the most special traditions of the Rotary Club is their practice of making a donation in honor of each guest speaker. This contribution supports Rotary’s global mission to eradicate polio—a reminder that even small moments of gratitude can contribute to life-changing impact around the world.

Together, the moment captures what we value most: partnership, shared leadership, and a commitment to doing good—both here at home and across the globe.
Looking Ahead
We are proud to stand alongside the Vail Edwards Rotary Club in service to our community and look forward to building this partnership in the years ahead.
And if you’ve ever been curious about getting more involved in meaningful, service-driven work, Rotary continues to welcome new members who are passionate about making a difference—right here in the Vail Valley and beyond.
Because when we come together in service, the impact is limitless.
