Immunizations at MIRA — A Lifelong Commitment to Community Health

For years, the MIRA bus has been more than a mobile resource—it’s been a lifeline. One of the most consistent and impactful services offered through MIRA has been immunizations, delivered in partnership with Eagle County Public Health & Environment.

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, many programs paused or disappeared. But MIRA’s commitment to immunizations didn’t stop. Our team adapted, mobilized, and ensured families had access to vaccines when they needed them most—protecting not only individuals, but the health of the entire community.

Today, that commitment continues. Parents bring children for their school-required vaccines. Seniors stay up to date on flu and pneumonia shots. Families without insurance or reliable transportation know they can rely on MIRA for care delivered with dignity.

The impact goes far beyond numbers of doses administered. Every shot represents peace of mind for a parent, a child who can attend school safely, a worker who avoids costly sick days, a grandparent who stays healthy through the winter. It’s not output—it’s opportunity: for health, stability, and connection.

One mother recently shared that getting her children vaccinated at the MIRA bus meant she could return to work with confidence, knowing her kids were protected. Another family said that without MIRA, they would have delayed vaccines because of cost and distance—putting their children at risk.

Through our long-standing partnership with Eagle County Public Health & Environment, MIRA continues to meet families where they are, ensuring that everyone—regardless of income, insurance, or background—has access to lifesaving vaccines. This is how we build a healthier, stronger Eagle County together.
