Celebrating 3 Years of Elevar: From Listening to Launching to Learning

Three years ago, with catalytic support from the Colorado Health Foundation, we launched a vision—one rooted in trust, equity, and the power of entrepreneurship to drive community transformation. Today, we celebrate Elevar’s 3-year anniversary—a journey of listening deeply, launching boldly, and now learning and growing in partnership.

Year 1: Listening & Designing

In our first year, we didn’t start with solutions—we started with questions. We gathered around kitchen tables, in coffee shops, and on Zoom calls to ask: What do BIPOC entrepreneurs in our region really need to succeed?

We listened to the frustrations with traditional systems, the barriers to capital, the lack of mentorship, and the hunger for community. What emerged was Elevar—a program co-designed with those it’s meant to serve, built around the three pillars of capital, curriculum, and community.

Year 2: Launching the First Cohort

With the foundation in place, 2023 marked the official launch of Elevar’s inaugural cohort—a group of bold, visionary, and deeply rooted local entrepreneurs. These founders brought a rich diversity of ideas, industries, and lived experiences.

Over the course of several months, they engaged in bilingual business training, received direct financial support, and were matched with culturally responsive mentors. They didn’t just gain skills—they gained confidence, networks, and new possibilities.

Their stories are already changing the face of business in Eagle County—and inspiring a wave of others ready to take the leap.

Year 3: Learning, Refining & Expanding Partnerships

Now, in Year 3, we’re in a powerful season of reflection and refinement. We’re asking: What’s working? What needs to evolve? And most importantly: How can we continue to grow this ecosystem sustainably and equitably?

We’re building new partnerships with funders, technical assistance providers, and fellow community-based organizations to expand the reach and impact of Elevar. We’re also preparing for our next cohort with new tools, enhanced mentor matching, and deeper wraparound support.

A Shared Vision for the Future

None of this would be possible without the belief and investment of partners like the Colorado Health Foundation, who understood that supporting economic mobility is a core component of health equity. Their early commitment gave us the runway to do this work with care and intention.

As we celebrate this milestone, we’re not just reflecting—we’re dreaming bigger. We’re committed to creating a valley where all entrepreneurs—especially those historically excluded—have the tools, relationships, and capital to thrive.

Thank you to every founder, mentor, donor, and partner who has helped shape Elevar so far. The journey is just beginning—and we’re so glad you’re on it with us.
