What SNAP Recipients Need to Know During the Federal Government Shutdown

As of November 1, the ongoing federal government shutdown means that SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits will not be paid for the month of November.

That means no new funds will be added to EBT cards until the shutdown ends and federal funding resumes. Any balance already on your card remains available — but no additional benefits are being loaded at this time.

We know this creates real concern for families across Eagle County. Many of our neighbors rely on SNAP to help fill grocery carts and put healthy food on the table. These interruptions are stressful, unpredictable, and completely out of your control.

You’re Not Alone — The Community Market Is Here to Help

If your SNAP benefits have stopped, you can still access healthy, fresh, and free groceries at The Community Market. No paperwork or proof of income is required. Everyone is welcome.

Our shelves are stocked with fresh produce, proteins, and pantry staples thanks to local partnerships, food rescue efforts, and community donations. Whether you need a few items to get through the week or full groceries for your family, we are here to support you with dignity and care.
