Turning Data Into Action: EVCF at the CPHA Culture of Data Conference
Colorado Public Health Association’s Culture of Data Conference brought together public health leaders, researchers, and community organizations from across the state to explore a powerful theme: The People’s Data: Democratizing Access, Understanding, and Use.
Eagle Valley Community Foundation was honored to participate in this statewide conversation focused on how data can be used not just to measure outcomes, but to build trust, strengthen transparency, elevate community voices, and advance health equity.
Throughout the conference, sessions highlighted the growing importance of data storytelling, visualization, and accessibility — helping organizations transform complex information into tools communities can actually understand and use. Presenters explored how culturally responsive communication, community-informed research, and transparent reporting can combat misinformation while empowering residents to advocate for their own health and wellbeing.
EVCF was proud to have two programs recognized during the conference. Our Elevar program was selected for a Poster Presentation, while The Community Market was featured through a Virtual Presentation. These opportunities allowed us to share how community-driven data helps shape programs that respond directly to the realities facing Eagle County families — from food insecurity and affordability challenges to barriers in healthcare access and economic mobility.
Participating in the conference reinforced something we see every day in our work: data is most powerful when it is rooted in lived experience. Behind every number is a family seeking stability, a parent navigating rising costs, or a neighbor working toward a healthier future.
As Eagle Valley Community Foundation continues to grow, we remain committed to community-centered data practices that prioritize transparency, accessibility, and dignity — ensuring local voices continue to guide the programs, partnerships, and solutions that strengthen our community.
