New Faces, Shared Vision: Welcoming Elizabeth Neal and Rick Sudekum
Strong communities are built through collaboration, thoughtful leadership, and people who are willing to bring their time, experience, and passion to the table. As the Eagle Valley Community Foundation (EVCF) continues to grow and evolve, we are excited to welcome two new leaders who share our commitment to strengthening our community: new Board Member Elizabeth Neal and new Advisor Rick Sudekum.
Both Elizabeth and Rick bring decades of professional experience, a deep understanding of organizational leadership, and a shared belief in the importance of investing in the people and future of the Eagle Valley.
Welcoming Elizabeth Neal to the Board of Directors
Elizabeth Neal joins the EVCF Board of Directors with more than 25 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and corporate leadership. A retired finance executive, Elizabeth has held senior finance roles at several multinational organizations, including Northwest Airlines, Bristol Myers Squibb, Diageo, and Western Union. Throughout her career, she has guided organizations through budgeting, strategic planning, capital planning, risk assessment, and long-term financial decision-making.
In addition to her corporate leadership experience, Elizabeth brings 15 years of experience serving as a fractional and full-time CFO for small and mid-sized businesses. In these roles, she oversaw financial planning and analysis, treasury functions, cash management, and banking relationships, helping organizations build strong foundations for sustainable growth.
Elizabeth’s commitment to community extends beyond her professional career. She has nonprofit governance experience as a board member and treasurer for organizations including the History Theater and the Colorado Cancer Research Program, bringing valuable expertise in financial stewardship, governance, and strategic planning.
Elizabeth first became familiar with EVCF through her support of Food Bank of the Rockies and her shared commitment to ensuring community members have access to essential resources, including food, healthcare, and opportunities to thrive.

Welcoming Rick Sudekum as an Advisor
EVCF is also pleased to welcome Frederick “Rick” J. Sudekum as a new advisor. A retired attorney, business owner, and governance advisor, Rick brings extensive experience in contract law, negotiations, mediation, arbitration, shareholder relations, professional-services management, and strategic decision-making.
As senior partner and one-third shareholder of Sudekum Cassidy and Shulruff, Chartered (SCS), an Illinois professional corporation, Rick gained firsthand experience navigating ownership, governance, capital management, succession planning, and complex stakeholder relationships. His career has been defined by helping organizations work through challenges with thoughtful analysis, practical judgment, and a focus on long-term success.
Rick’s expertise in governance, risk assessment, dispute resolution, and business operations will provide valuable perspective as EVCF continues to strengthen its systems and partnerships. He brings the unique perspective of both a legal professional and business owner understanding the importance of strong governance, clear communication, and strategic alignment.
Beyond his professional experience, Rick is deeply engaged in the Eagle Valley community and interested in civic engagement, community development, outdoor recreation, and nonprofit and foundation work.
Continuing to Build a Stronger Future Together
Elizabeth and Rick join EVCF at an exciting time as the Foundation continues to expand its impact, strengthen partnerships, and support initiatives that help our community thrive.
Their combined expertise in finance, governance, strategic planning, and community leadership will help guide EVCF as we look toward the future while staying grounded in our mission of connecting people, resources, and opportunities throughout the Eagle Valley.
Please join us in welcoming Elizabeth and Rick. We are grateful for their willingness to serve and excited for the experience, insight, and passion they bring to our shared vision.
