Alex Kandalaft, originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, currently serves as the Annual Giving Manager for the Eagle Valley Community Foundation. She started her career as a kindergarten teacher at Avon Elementary School, where she taught for three years. During her time as an educator, she witnessed firsthand the incredible impact of the Community Market’s Totes for Hope program. Every week, students would eagerly anticipate receiving their Totes for Hope bags, filled with nutritious food and essentials to support them and their families over the weekend. For many of these children, this was a highlight of their week bringing a sense of security and joy. The experience of seeing the difference this program made in my students’ lives inspired her to transition from education to philanthropy. Alex is thrilled to bring her enthusiasm for serving the community to this new role and make a positive difference at Eagle Valley Community Foundation.
