From Startup to Success: Celebrating Startup Elevar’s Newest Graduates

Starting a business takes more than a great idea. It requires practical knowledge, confidence, strong relationships, and a community willing to invest in an entrepreneur’s potential.

Startup Elevar, a program of Eagle Valley Community Foundation, was created to provide that foundation for aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs in Eagle County. Through accessible instruction, hands-on activities, mentorship, and peer connection, participants build the skills needed to turn an idea into a sustainable business.

Today, we are proud to celebrate Startup Elevar’s newest graduates—local entrepreneurs who committed their time, energy, and creativity to strengthening their businesses and building new opportunities for themselves, their families, and our community.

Throughout the program, participants explored essential topics such as business planning, customer service, sales, marketing, financial management, and goal setting. Practical exercises allowed them to apply what they learned directly to their own business ideas, while the cohort model created a supportive environment where entrepreneurs could exchange feedback, solve challenges, and celebrate one another’s progress.

Exit survey results demonstrate the program’s immediate impact:

• 93.8% of respondents rated their overall satisfaction with Startup Elevar a four or five out of five.
• Participants gave the program an average recommendation score of 9.25 out of 10.
• 87.5% rated the program’s practical activities as good or excellent.
• 93.8% reported feeling more or much more prepared to work with customers and make sales.
• 87.5% expressed positive interest in continuing to Phase 2.

These findings reflect more than satisfaction with a course. They show that participants completed the program feeling better prepared to connect with customers, communicate the value of their products and services, and take the next steps in their entrepreneurial journeys.

The graduates’ interest in continuing to Phase 2 is especially encouraging. Entrepreneurship is not a single class or milestone; it is an ongoing process of testing ideas, responding to customers, building relationships, and adapting to new opportunities. Continued training and mentorship can help participants carry their momentum forward as their businesses grow.

The exit survey focused on participants’ experiences, practical learning, confidence, and readiness. It did not directly measure changes in business revenue or employee hiring. Elevar plans to assess those longer-term outcomes through follow-up approximately 90 days after the program, allowing time for graduates to apply their new knowledge within their businesses.

Local entrepreneurs contribute much more than products and services. They create jobs, strengthen household economic stability, reflect the cultures and creativity of our community, and help build a more vibrant local economy. By reducing barriers to business education and connecting entrepreneurs with trusted guidance and resources, Startup Elevar ensures that more community members can participate in—and contribute to—Eagle County’s future.
