Elevar Launches Second Cohort of Local Entrepreneurs, Elevating Dreams into Businesses
“I want my daughters to grow up seeing me chase my dreams.”
That’s what one aspiring entrepreneur wrote in their Elevar application this year. Her words echo the experiences of over 35 applicants who stepped forward with courage, creativity, and conviction to say: I have something to offer this community.
Today, we’re proud to announce the second cohort of Elevar, a program of Eagle Valley Community Foundation (EVCF) designed to do exactly what its name promises—lift up the entrepreneurial spirit of our region’s Spanish-speaking and BIPOC communities.
These entrepreneurs are artists, caretakers, culinary innovators, and problem-solvers. They come from kitchens, garages, and backyards—spaces of hustle, hope, and vision. And now, through Elevar, they’ll gain access to the capital, curriculum, and community needed to build thriving businesses in Eagle County.
Elevar was launched in 2022 with a bold belief: when local talent is given tools, trust, and a platform, the entire community rises. We saw it in our first cohort—businesses launched, partnerships formed, confidence deepened. And now, in our 10th year as an organization, we’re honored to walk alongside another inspiring group of entrepreneurs ready to shape the future of our valley.
“Elevar is more than a program—it’s a movement,” said Sofía Fecchino, Program Manager for Elevar. “It’s about investing in people who have long been underestimated, who are now standing tall with business plans in one hand and purpose in the other. Our community is stronger when their ideas are seen and supported.”
With over 35 applications for just 10 spots, it’s clear: the need is urgent, and the interest is real. Many applicants shared barriers they’ve faced—language access, systemic exclusion, lack of mentorship or financial capital. Elevar meets them at that intersection, offering:
- Weekly bilingual classes co-designed with Colorado Mountain College
- 2 bilingual workshops per month, free and open to the public
- Peer support and mentorship from local business leaders
- Tailored consulting in marketing, finance, and operations
- And a startup grant to put dreams into motion
