At Eagle Valley Community Foundation (EVCF), our volunteers are the heartbeat of our work—bringing compassion, energy, and a shared vision to strengthen our community every day.
Volunteer Group of the Year
Eagle River Presbyterian Church (ERPC) Every month, ERPC members brighten The Community Market with their time, laughter, and service. From stocking fresh produce to welcoming neighbors, their heartfelt actions embody kindness in action. As ERPC’s volunteer coordinator noted:
“Everyone who has volunteered here feels it is a way to show our love for our neighbors…”
Individual Volunteer of the Year (The Community Market)
Sonia Rivera Sonia is more than a volunteer—she’s a beacon of warmth at The Community Market in Edwards. Whether chatting with customers, restocking shelves, or offering a smile, she creates a space of belonging. Team members greet her with a joyful “SONIA!”—a simple testament to the positive energy she brings.
Individual Volunteer of the Year (MIRA Program)
Betsy Krebs McGuire Betsy and her husband founded Operation House Blanket, delivering over 1,000 comforting blankets at MIRA events. Each blanket carries dignity and hope, reflecting Betsy’s unwavering generosity. As MIRA’s Program Manager shared:
“She doesn’t just provide blankets—she provides comfort, dignity, and hope…”
Individual Volunteer of the Year (Elevar Program)
Francisco Fuerte Often unseen behind the scenes, Francisco ensures Elevar events run smoothly—from setup to cleanup. His care for cultural details—such as safely transporting Calaveras for a Día de los Muertos celebration—made the event meaningful and memorable.
Why Their Work Matters
EVCF’s focus on connection, equity, and dignity thrives thanks to volunteers:
Over 10,000 community members benefited from EVCF programs in the last year, supported by food rescues, health services, and entrepreneurship initiatives.
Volunteers contributed hours equivalent to six full-time staff for Elevar alone, powering community events and initiatives behind the scenes.
