Building Dreams, One Workshop at a Time: Why Elevar Matters for Local Entrepreneurs

At Eagle Valley Community Foundation, we believe that talent is everywhere—but opportunity is not. That’s why the Elevar Entrepreneur Workshops are more than just classes; they are a lifeline for local entrepreneurs working hard to build a future for themselves, their families, and our community.

These workshops are free and open to the public, but the impact is priceless.

From learning how to use artificial intelligence in business, to understanding loan fundamentals, to navigating legal contracts—each session is designed to meet aspiring and active entrepreneurs where they are. The 2025 workshop series, held in partnership with Colorado Mountain College, covers everything from marketing and human resources to mental health and sustainability. Every topic was chosen based on real-world feedback from participants in our Elevar program—primarily women and Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs who are often excluded from traditional business support systems.

Why are these workshops so important?

Because starting a business can be overwhelming. Many of our participants have brilliant ideas and deep community ties, but they face language barriers, financial constraints, or simply don’t know where to begin. These workshops don’t just teach business skills—they build confidence, foster peer support, and offer hands-on tools to make entrepreneurship a reality.

For example, our August 7th kickoff session, “Motivation: The Key for the Entrepreneur,” isn’t just about mindset—it’s about igniting the fire to move forward despite challenges. Our September 11th workshop introduces ChatGPT as a free, powerful tool to save time and boost creativity. It’s these tangible takeaways—along with mentorship, camaraderie, and culturally responsive learning—that set Elevar apart.

So why do we need donor support?

Because offering these workshops for free requires intentional investment. We compensate local facilitators, provide bilingual materials, and create safe, welcoming environments. And we don’t stop at education—we surround participants with a larger support system that includes access to capital, community events, and one-on-one mentorship.

Your gift helps us:

  • Remove financial and language barriers for underserved entrepreneurs
  • Offer culturally relevant programming in English and Spanish
  • Equip participants with tools and resources to launch and grow their businesses
  • Create a ripple effect of economic opportunity across our region

If you’ve ever been inspired by someone who built something from nothing—or if you believe in the power of small businesses to transform communities—we invite you to invest in Elevar.

Let’s elevate our local entrepreneurs—together.
