When Partnership Meets Purpose: City Market Vail and The Community Market

At Eagle Valley Community Foundation, strong partnerships make community impact possible. Local businesses play a critical role in helping our programs grow, adapt, and meet the evolving needs of neighbors across Eagle County—and City Market Vail is a standout example of that commitment in action.

This winter, City Market Vail once again partnered with The Community Market through its Fight Hunger Bag Program, donating $1 from every $2.50 reusable bag purchased during December and January. These contributions directly support food access for families facing food insecurity, while also promoting sustainability through the use of reusable bags.

Beyond this seasonal campaign, City Market Vail’s year-round commitment through our RECover program has an even broader impact. As a dedicated RECover partner, City Market Vail contributes an average of more than 10,500 pounds of food each quarter. Through this program, high-quality, perfectly good food is rescued from the landfill and redirected to The Community Market, where it reaches families who need it most.

Together, these efforts strengthen food security, reduce waste, and reinforce the power of collaboration in building a healthier, more resilient community. We are deeply grateful to City Market Vail for its generosity, leadership, and ongoing partnership.

Thank you for helping ensure that nourishment, dignity, and care remain accessible to neighbors across our valley.
