When he accepted the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. stated, “I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture of their minds, and dignity, equality, and freedom for their spirits.”
This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, as we reflect on Dr. King’s work for social and racial justice, we want to acknowledge that there is still work to do before justice for all is a reality in our country.
