Community Health Fair
October 16, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The Eagle Valley Community Foundation (EVCF), in collaboration with Vail Health and Eagle County Government, is gearing up to host an exciting and informative health fair as part of the MIRA Bus Program in celebration of Binational Health Week. This event, supported by several nonprofit partners, promises to be a vital resource for residents of Eagle County, offering valuable health and wellness information, services, and much more.
The MIRA Bus Program: A Beacon of Community Health
The MIRA Bus Program, a program of the Eagle Valley Community Foundation, has been at the forefront of community health for years. It has played a pivotal role in improving healthcare accessibility for residents through the Lake Christine Fire, COVID-19 Pandemic, and the continued rising costs of basic healthcare. When it comes to promoting wellness for the people who live and work in Eagle County, MIRA is about taking down barriers, making people feel welcome, providing education about available resources and helping those we serve navigate it all. The MIRA bus is a one-stop integrated and culturally relevant way to connect people to basic health education and screenings, support in applying to public assistance programs, food resources, workforce development, coordination with childhood programming and more. MIRA is relevant and trusted, as resources and services available on MIRA change based on community needs and priorities.
Vail Health and Eagle County Government: Partners in Health
Vail Health, a renowned healthcare provider in the region, brings its expertise in health and wellness to the event providing diabetes testing and general health screenings as well as Medicaid enrollments through their Community Health Program. Eagle County Government’s involvement underscores the importance of community health as a priority for local governance and their teams will be offering flu vaccines at no cost.

Celebrating Binational Health Week
Binational Health Week was created in 2001 with the objective of raising awareness and responding to the unique health care challenges of Latinos living in the United States and Canada. Since its inception, BHW has evolved into one of the largest mobilization efforts in the Americas to improve the health and well-being of the underserved Latino population. We are excited to be participating in this annual event!
The health fair will take place on Monday, October 16 from 3-6 PM at Edwards Elementary. Admission is free, and all community members are encouraged to attend- Come Join Us for a Healthier Tomorrow!
