Eagle Valley Community Foundation Welcomes Three New Advisors

Eagle Valley Community Foundation (EVCF) is pleased to welcome Josh Miller, Melisa Rewold-Thuon, and Zach DuFresne as new advisors to the organization.

Together, they bring valuable experience in transportation, education, health and wellness, nonprofit leadership, communications, and community engagement. Their perspectives will support EVCF as it continues connecting people, institutions, and resources to address Eagle County’s most pressing challenges and create opportunities for everyone to thrive.

Josh Miller is an aviation professional with Eagle County Regional Airport. His experience spans local government, transportation, operations, and regional partnerships. He has also served the community through volunteer roles with VVMTA and the Vail Valley Charitable Fund. Josh’s knowledge of regional infrastructure and access will offer important insight as EVCF works to bring services directly into communities through MIRA, The Community Market, and other community-based efforts.

Melisa Rewold-Thuon serves as Assistant Superintendent for the Eagle County School District, overseeing Health Services, Mental Health Services, Multilingual Education, Early Childhood Education, and student wellness. Her career includes leadership roles as Vice President of Education and Executive Director of YouthPower365, Principal of Avon Elementary School, and Director of Multilingual Education. Melisa brings extensive experience in education, nonprofit management, fundraising, strategic planning, and building partnerships across the public, nonprofit, healthcare, philanthropic, and business sectors. Her commitment to culturally responsive services and expanding opportunity closely aligns with the work of MIRA, Elevar, and EVCF as a whole.

Zach DuFresne is a media and publishing professional with the Vail Daily. He brings expertise in communications, storytelling, nonprofit governance, and community engagement. Zach previously served on the boards of the Santa Fe Children’s Museum and Leadership Santa Fe and has volunteered with First Tee, The Salvation Army, and Kitchen Angels. His experience will help EVCF strengthen community awareness, education, donor engagement, and storytelling across the organization and its programs.

EVCF is reimagining what it means to be a community foundation. In addition to stewarding community resources and bringing partners together, EVCF delivers direct services through The Community Market, MIRA, and Elevar—responding to evolving local needs while working toward lasting, widely shared results.

Josh, Melisa, and Zach each bring a distinct perspective grounded in service and a shared commitment to Eagle County. Their leadership will help EVCF deepen partnerships, elevate community voices, and continue building a stronger, more connected valley.
