Pablo Gonzalez – Food Security Collaborator
Supervised by Sara Amberg, Director of InteGreat!, Pablo works collaboratively with InteGreat!, Vail Valley Salvation Army, BareRoots, and Our Community Foundation to advance efforts to reduce hunger in the valley and expand the capacity of innovative solutions. Pablo spent time in Eagle County as part of the AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) team in the spring of 2016 for twelve weeks, and was eager to have the opportunity to return. More about Pablo!
I was born and raised in Salinas California. I attended Grizzly Youth Academy, a quasi-military charter high school, graduating with honors in 2013. Following my graduation, I joined AmeriCorps NCCC, dedicating myself to two years of national and community service (2014-2016). NCCC is built on the belief that civic responsibility is an inherent duty of all citizens and that national service programs work effectively with local communities to address unmet needs. During my two years of service, I traveled to nine different states, responding to pressing community needs. Wanting to continue my service, I joined City Year Philadelphia, where I served inner city and under-resourced schools, as a City Year Member. Being a City Year Member, I tutored and mentored young children, running an after-school program as an After-School Coordinator. During my AmeriCorps service experiences, I also completed a degree in Marriage Counseling from the Community College of Philadelphia.
